J. Martins announces appointment as Abia gov’s Special Assistant on Entertainment

Popular singer and producer Martins Okey Justice, aka J. Martins, has been appointed as Special Assistant on Tourism And Entertainment to the Governor of Abia State, Dr Alex Otti.

The ‘Cool Temper’ crooner announced the good news via his Twitter handle on Wednesday.

J. Martins wrote: “Greetings everyone. Got up early morning at 3 am with multiple calls and congratulations messages. I have been appointed as SA on Entertainment and Tourism to Abia State Governor.”

Jordyn Woods Opens Up On Bullying After Tristan Thompson-Kim Kardashian Scandal

American reality star Jordyn Woods says she understood “what it’s like being a black woman, after going through intense bullying following her Tristan/Kardashian saga.

Woods commented on the issues during a panel session with Grace Ladoja at the Homecoming festival in Nigeria which she attended during the long Easter holiday.

Recall that in January, Woods allegedly had an ‘affair’ with Tristan Thompson, the father of Khloe Kardashian’s baby, True.

The scandal put a dent on her relationship with best friend, Kylie Jenner, Khloe’s sister and the Kardashian clan.

Woods denied the rumours on March 1 when she went on Jada Pickett-Smith’s show. However, the social media reactions continued to flood in.

Addressing how she dealt with the bullying, she said she wanted to be an example for her little sister, who had gone through bullying at school.

She said, “My little sister was bullied in school and I wanted to show her that I was bullied by the world. I understood for the first time what it’s like being a black woman—in a just society.

“How we can be so disrespected and nobody can really understand to that extent until you have to live it,” Woods said.

This basically mirrors what she said in her ‘Red Table Talk’ interview back in March. At the time, she said her little sister couldn’t even go to school and her mom could not go to the grocery story because the ridicule was so insane.

She further commented on the issue on Twitter explaining how speaking about bullying in Nigeria was useful to her healing.

Mr. P Speaks On ‘Sleeping’ With Diamond Platnumz Wife, ‘Crashing’ His Marriage

Nigerian music superstar, Peter Okoye of the defunct P-Sqaure, also known as Mr. P, has reacted to the claim by Tanzania music star, Diamond Platnumz, that he (Mr P) slept with his wife and crashed his marriage.

Platnumz, during an interview on Tuesday on his Wasafi Radio, had said, “Zari was dating P-Square’s Peter a few months before she and I got our first baby, Latiffah Dangote.

“I read messages that she and Peter sent each other via mobile phone. I even confronted her.”

But responding to the allegations on CoolFM, Mr P said it was “stupid” of the Tanzanian singer to make such utterances.

He said, “To be honest with you, I do not know what they are talking about. I can never, and would never say anything.

“Please, I have a new single, and I do not want to get distracted. I do not want to comment on Diamond’s allegations. In fact, it is stupid.

“Once people discover that you are doing well, the devil just finds a way of rearing its ugly head. Nonetheless, we are friends with Diamond Platnumz; he is my guy.”

Recall that Zari, Platnumz’s wife, had taken to Instagram to rubbish the claims, noting that those who dared believe her ex-husband were just as “stupid” as he was.

She had written, “He alleged that I had a relationship with P-Square’s Peter, and another with my personal trainer… If you guys are going to believe a word that comes from him, the same man who denied his own blood, then you are all stupid just like him.

Wizkid finally shares face of his third child, Zion

Nigerian music star, Wizkid who welcomed a bouncing baby boy last year with his manager, Jada Pollock has finally shared photos of his son, Zion Ayo Balogun.

The photo of the cute baby was released by the father himself, Wizkid on his Instagram page on Wednesday 24, 2018.

I Wrote 5 Songs For Drake In His ‘More Life’ Album — Burna Boy Claims

Nigeria Reggae-Dancehall act, Burna Boy has revealed his contributions to Canadian Rapper, Drake’s “More Life” album project. The singer made this revelation during the listening party for his forthcoming album tagged “Outside”.
While speaking on how he met Drake in London and how meeting him resulted to their partner on the Canadian Rapper’s “More Life” project, Burna Boy spoke extensively on the level of hard he had to put into getting materials for Drake’s project.

In his words;

“I worked on 5 new songs for the project, and submitted them all.” he said
According to him, after getting confirmation from Drake’s team that one of the songs he wrote titled “More Life” will make the album but came out in different format and turned out to be the name of the whole album, he did not get deserved recognition and credit for writing a song that later broke the streaming charts on Billboard.

Burna Boy would later feature on the outro of the album ‘Get It Together’, which was a remake of South African DJ, Black Coffee, and Bucie’s 2010 single Superman.

The new version had UK singer Jorja Smith, singing about fixing a strained relationship. Burna Boy’s More Life was reworked and sampled at the outro of the record in an almost unrecognisable form.

“They told me they had picked it, but when the song came out it was…chopped.” Burna Boy said.

Burna Boy however said he has moved on from that episode and stated that the original version of the More Life song he wrote would be on his forthcoming album “Outside,” which is set for release on January 26th, 2018.

“Throwback to my Matriculation Day in Unilag. 1998. Day of Glory that became a Day of Disgrace!

Back Home (then), we had this little-black-and-white-brandless-TV that never showed steady pictures…We always had to slap it hard for it to show properly and each heavy slap only held vice for bout 20mins! I was always exasperated with it!

One Sunday, I rubbed anointing oil on it and Alleluia, the “skoin-skoin” of this toolbox-sized TV ceased and it was perfect picture all day (only on that Sunday)!

Then & there, I saw a promo for an audition: New young actors and actresses wanted for the most popular family series back then. (D Executive Producer is late now, Heaven bless her soul!). I was FRIGGING EXCITED. Jotted down d address, went d next day (Monday) to their office in Ikeja, paid 2k for d form & got the Audition dates.

The actual auditioning date was the same day as my Matric. Even before the Matric, I posed with a makeshift gown (cos I couldn’t afford one) & raced to Ikeja in my very best ensemble (My Dad’s checkered shirt, my best denim P@nts, borrowed shades and my Yaba-Aba-made trainers that always smelt so bad after I took them off).

I was at the auditioning ground from 10am thru till 7pm waiting for my turn. I honestly didn’t mind the long wait…I wanted to be on the show so bad cos I needed the cash, exposure and of course, work. My turn and I went in with all d confidence in d world.

They called in 10 of us & when it was time to act, I nailed it. However, there was an Actor on the panel (very popular at that time) who was eyeing me in disdain. He suddenly started throwing questions at me, perhaps in a bid to make me look stupid or throw me off but i was damn ready for him.

He looked me squarely in the eye and told me, I recall this too well; “YOU WILL NEVER MAKE IT IN THIS INDUSTRY. YOU ARE TALENTLESS AND JUST WASTED OUR TIME. YOU WANT US TO PUT U ONSCREEN? SUCH A DISGRACE”. I thought he was reading from d script. Next thing, I was walked out with the others.

D other guys tried consoling me but I left shattered. Trekked from Ikeja to Yaba. Cried all The way home.

U know my name, not my story.

U’ve heard what I’ve done, but not what I’v been thru!”
