Nigerians have taken to various social media platforms to comment on the recent discovery by the EFCC in Kaduna.
Operatives of the anti-graft commission on Friday, February 3 discovered
$9.8million in cash from a secret bunker owned by Engineer Andrew
Yakubu.
Yakubu, 61, is a former managing director of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) relieved of his job by ex-President Goodluck Jonathan in 2014.
The EFCC’s discovery has been on the lips of many Nigerians and the social media is buzzing with comments on the issue.
Ovie Ben wrote on the EFCC’s Facebook Page: ‘’So
we have such money from a small boy like NNPC Group MD, imagine what we
could get from people like Govs T. A Orji, Akpabio, Elechi, etc. We
don't need to borrow from IMF and other foreign sources.’’
On his part, Moshood Abdulwahab wrote: ‘’IF
the GMD of NNPC could hide such an amount of money, what amount would
the minister of petroleum hide? EFCC investigate him properly to get
others, I believe that this is a deal among some cabals.’’
Demola Akinshola wrote: ‘’God
will punish all of you corrupt people even those useless politicians
from your generation to the tenth generation.... You all will not know
peace as you have put this nation in this recession mess. E no go well
wit una wey dey tif our money still dey deny. Una pikin no go do well in
life IJN.’’
Ereje Joseph wrote: ‘’A
disgrace to entire southern kaduna community. People are dying of
hunger nd you are keeping such kind of money in your house, wonders
shall never end.’’
